I know this happened a while ago but winning Miss Memolusia felt great. I don't really do pagents. I did Miss Memolusia my tenth grade year and placed in the top ten. My eleventh grade year i signed up too late. Senior year rolled around and I wasn't going to do it until my sister told me she wanted me to be in it. So like I always do I waited the last minute to get a dress. I guess my mother had been telling people at work that I was going to be in the pagent. A lady that used to own a dress shop told her I could come buy her house and look if I wanted to. Soon as my mom walked in the door and told me we left and headed to her house. We went down stairs where she had dresses and shoes from her shop that she was trying to get rid of. She pulled out a few dressed but I was not feeling those. As soon as she brought out this pretty peach dress I was all over it. I tried it on with some heels. It was perfect! I didnt need any thing taken up or anything. It was the week before the pagent and I had only been to one practice. Saturday came around and I was so nevrous. Seniors went on last. My escort was Jacard Townsend. I was glad I had someone I talk to on a daily bases to walk me out so he could make me laugh. I walked out was thinking don't fall, keep smilling, and don't look into the light and get blinded. As I did my last turn and they called out my name for the last time I heard all of my friends that came yelling "WE LOVE YOU DOODY." I could finally relax after we did our final walk. We all went back to the library and waited on someone to return with the finalist. The girl called our Kristin Evans name first. Then she said about three other girls. I was texting when I heard my name. After that I kind of went blank and didn't hear any other names she called out. We made our way back to the stage. Since Kristin and I were at the back of the line everyone thought we didn't get in the top. When we walked out mostly everyone yelled. They called out the girls who where just finalist. Greely Foshee, Lorren Cooper, Kristin Evans, and I were the only ones left. Lorren Copper third alt. Kristin Evans second alt. I got really nervous. Kristin and I held hands as they got ready to say who would be first alt. Greely Foshee first alt. My mouth dropped!! All types off emotions came over me. I was shocked! I almost cried, but I managed to hold it in. For that to be only my second pageant, and win was so awesome.
